How to install solar flat ballast roof
Aug 30 , 2022Most of the aluminum solar panel mounting system we see in our community are installed on pitched roofs or as a ground mount.
Many people with flat roofs don't consider solar panels because they don't think they have enough direct sunlight on their roof to install them. But what if we were to tell you that is it perfectly possible to install solar panels on solar panel mounting systems flat roof? The way many solar panel systems are installed on a flat roof is by something known as a ballast solar mount.

1. Preparation
1.1 Confirm the base support position.
Distance B1 (inter) is approximately panel length + 30mm or you can get the distance from the technical drawing.
When Angle α is 10 degrees, distance B2 is approximately 957mm(e.g. solar panel size 1640*992*40) and dependent of angel α and solar panel size. Maybe you get the distance from the technical drawing.
1.2 Prepare the concrete blocks.
2. Installation
2.1 Locate base support
2.1.1 Locate base support according to chapter 2.1, and put them in position.
2.1.2 Put the concrete block on the base supports.
2.2 Solar panel installation
Fix the solar panel on base support and fasten with end clamp and inter clamp.
Note:
There should be a margin of d=36mm between end clamp and solar panel.
